Thunder Nova Laser Engraver Acrylic Settings

The Thunder Laser system offer a variety of watts and bed sizes, all of which work great when cutting a variety of acrylic. Whether you're just beginning to experiment with your machine, or you've been creating for years, the cutting chart below can serve as a handy reference when cutting acrylic on your Thunder Nova.

Acrylic is one of the best materials you can experiment with on your laser. It's inexpensive, and with thousands of combinations of thicknesses, colors, and sizes of acrylic to choose from, the creative possibilities are endless.

When using the settings below, keep in mind that dirty lenses and mirrors can decrease power, affecting the quality of your cuts. It's important to ensure they are kept extremely clean as part of your normal maintenance.

It is important to note that there are several factors that affect the results of your machine’s cutting and engraving. These factors include:

● The settings above are considered best practices only. You may find that you can stray outside of these settings (ex: cutting 3/4" acrylic with a 60w machine is possible, but may not produce ideal results.

● Always ensure all components of your machine are clean. Cleaning and maintaining lenses is the best first step when trouble shooting.

● Always ensure proper airflow and ventilation

● Never walk away from your laser when it is cutting

● Refer to the Thunder Laser site for more details regarding cutting, general safety, and specific laser questions
